Sherri and I are both small-town northwesterners, she from a ranching family in the rugged Hells Canyon bordering Oregon and Idaho, and me from a remote Western Oregon logging community. We met at Oregon State University and, after marrying, began our career journey that took us to Indiana, Southern California, and back home to Oregon, before striking out on our own with Steel Stamps Inc., located in Boise, Idaho.

I spent 25 years in industrial sales and marketing while Sherri sacrificed a working career to focus on raising our two children. My job included considerable domestic and global travel. Making things more difficult was having my corporate office on the east coast while we were located in Oregon. The corporate life was very good to me. but we both yearned to strike out on our own.

We acquired Steel Stamps Inc. in May 2014. This was a well-established company with a great reputation serving the "steel stamp" market. Great products and solid technical expertise drew us to the company. I welcomed the challenge of working with my hands in the fabrication process and using my corporate experience to bring further value to the company. Sherri, determined to help wherever possible, became bookkeeper, and took on one of our key fabrication processes. She is now branching out to sales and customer service.

As you might guess, before finding our comfort zone, there were some very long days in those first couple years. The old saying "you don't know what you don't know" certainly applied. While Sherri and I were pushed to our limits, we can proudly say that customer quality and service never suffered during the transition. Having that learning curve behind us, we have now turned our sights toward bringing more value to our customer through improved internal efficiency and exploring new market needs.

"The best advertising you can have is a "loyal customer" spreading the word about how incredible your business is" - Shep Hyken

The craftspeople we serve tend to be small family businesses like ourselves. They understand the value of quality tools. They are willing to invest in the best and, in turn, have very high expectations. Our business could not survive without their loyalty and the friends and fellow-crafters they send our way.

Thank you for visiting our site and taking time to hear our story. You are more than a sale to us! Our business depends on converting you to a "loyal customer."
